Due Up—The Legacy Blog of Shaun Lunt

Editor's note: These blog entries are slowly being migrated here, with Shaun's family's permission.

The trip of a lifetime—a season spent exploring Alaska by Super Cub. In 2007 Shaun Lunt set out from the lower 48 states, en route Alaska. That summer, Internet pilots worldwide eagerly awaited the next blog update as we followed along with his adventures, in awe of the amazing photography and scenes from AK. This is an archive of his blog, which was lost when his hosting platform shut down.

Sadly, to the heartbreak of many, Shaun perished in a crash. A low level stall and unrecoverable spin above a beach in south central Alaska ended the life of this inspiring young pilot and photographer. My hope is that fans of bush flying can continue to enjoy and be inspired by his remarkable take on a first time in Alaska—the telling of an adventure we all dream of experiencing.
