Thank you all for the kind words. I am running a Catto 84-43. I have over 1000 hrs on it. LOTS of time flying in the rain and on floats and it is just like new. That nickel leading edge works great for erosion from water.
Black Bear lake is at 1900 feet. The cub (180 hp) does well even at 2300 gross. I have never had to lift a float to get off the water.
