My neighbor and I will be heading to Spiral Jetty tomorrow morning (6/6) to fix the airstrip. We are taking two tractors. If anyone can/wants to help we should be there (driving) by 10 AM. If not, that's OK too. We'll get it looking good.2015-06-06 04:27:18

Has anyone been to Spiral Jetty this spring? My neighbor and I are considering going there Sat (6/6/2015) in the AM to fix it but don't want to drive for 5 hours total to work on it if it's OK.2015-06-03 00:06:10
SkySteve I think we will plan to go there Saturday morning (6/6/2015) and fix it. If I remember right, I think a 172 or 182 crashed there this past year and messed it up more than it was. We plan to take 2 tractors, a land leveler and 2 field harrows if we can get all the gear on a flat bed trailer.11 years ago

Been to the Guilder twice. Landed once. The next time there was a pick up down the road aways so decided to continue on without landing. The weeds are pretty deep on the strip.2014-07-03 01:40:06
SkySteve So so. Doable but the weeds are deep enough you and I need to really hold the Nosewheel way off the ground. Getting out
Is the harder part. The deep weeds take a long time to get out of. I told Clint he needs to mow it. He MAY do it. All in all it's pretty much a tail wheel and larger tire airstrip until mowed.12 years ago -

Grassstrippilot I got Cliff to come look at it. If you don't know him, he does good work, but I think likes to keep a low profile due to the somewhat hostile environment at OGD. We used Cliff for years with the flying club. That's how I know him.12 years ago

SkySteve Sounds good. I'll put a notice here before going. My plan is the same, land on the road and explore the strip. I didn't know about the arrow, that's cool.
