    I am considering purchasing a 1955 180 with "Cross Wind Landing" Gear. I believe to be factory installed and possibly made by Goodyear. I understood that parts were hard to find, and some mechanics don't want to mess with it. Is this something I should plan on replacing?

    13 Thanks, that is what I thought. Also, the plane has been sitting in a barn with very little use for almost 40 years. It has had an annual every year, but some years only 2 hrs ( the flip side is that it only has 2k hrs.). I am going this weekend to look at it. Are there some particular places I should look for rodent damage? And lastly, I understand from the mechanic who has inspected it for most of the 40 yrs that there is some play in the horizontal stabilizer bushings, and this might need a rebuild. Any estimate on what costs might be?
