Sorry the 8th Annual Bacon Strip Fly-In / Campout is on the same weekend as the Hi-Sierra Fly In. That was not intentional, but the BSR Fly-In has historically been on the second weekend of Oct. I was just out camping at the Bacon Strip last weekend and everything looked in great shape!
If you fly in, make sure you check out the newly added "Desert Marlin" that sits above the granite dedication plaque, inside the steel shade shelter.
Today John Bacon updated his facebook page and talks about the Oct. Fly-In.

Charlie - added a new event, 8th Annual Bacon Strip Ranch Fly-In & Camp Out Oct. 11-12 2014
All dirt strip pilots are invited to attend the 8th annual BSR Fly-In and camp out on Oct. 11-12. Last year we had a record 21 aircraft camping Saturday night. John Bacon will be updating his facebook page soon to include details, but once again there will be engraved granite awards for the Longest Distance Flown, Best Aircraft and Best Aero Camp, in addition to free laser etched commemorative dog tags. The landing strip is over 2000 feet, smooth and flat dry lake surface suitable for any aircraft. Saturday night Hawaiian shirts are encouraged. For info e-mail me at [email protected]
