Mike: Now that's more like it!, It's great that he will be introduced to ski flying, and I'll expect a disclaimer from him in a future KitPlanes that it is not "impossible" in Idaho! How about hitting big curling match in Stanley, turn it into a ski plane Fly-In?
courierguyI just came across this! Sorry for the slow response.
That KITPLANES article was very poorly written, and all I did was respond to what the article said. Obviously with the article wrong, my response was off base, as would be any offense given to Paul. If KITPLANES quoted me as saying "RANS S7-S's are not capable of landing off airport", I would fully expect to get flamed by outraged S-7 pilots, but once the basis of their response was known (a poorly written article) I would understand their outrage and would hardly accuse them of slander. I was in McCall Sunday, and saw the turbo Kitfox they feature in their ads, I have no idea who was flying it but I did think back to this ski misunderstanding. Believe, if I ever get the chance, I will apologize profusely to Paul, while at the same time also making sure he knows WHY I said what I did. We're both big boys, and more importantly both ski pilots, I'm sure he was chagrined when he read the article, they put words in his mouth.

I did add weight, and pleased with it, with the Airmaster prop, second cabin heater, Roberts gear, 26" Bush tires...
Landed in Lake View on the taxi way for fuel just as Alex took off. Winds were 31 knots on take off, taxi way departure... Scud running through snow and rain with nasty head winds, got around most of...
