This month is the debut of the full-frame slideshow series "A Thousand Words," which of course is derived from the saying that "A photo is worth a thousand words." For me personally, few photos conjure such feelings of inspiration and beauty as those that feature the amazing engineering of mankind juxtaposed against the beauty and wildness of nature. It's just one of the reasons that backcountry flying is so special.

The photos featured here are submissions from the talented photographers of the BCP community, several of whcih were submitted prior to the release of the new website. We'd love to showcase your work here, which will be shared on various social media outlets as well for thousands to see and enjoy. Submissions should be emailed to [email protected] and should be no less than 1600 pixels wide with 100% JPG quality. Please include a location and context for the caption, as well as the photographer's name for credit.
