170B getting smoked by 182D

I’m guessing 145hp vs 230hp? Getting smoked doesn’t hold water if those are the hp of the planes shown.

Yeah, somewhere around there. The O-300 in the 170B is from a 1988 rebuild and the O-470 in the 182D is original to when it left Wichita new in 1961 (never rebuilt, about 1200 hours TT).
That 57 year old engine is still going strong!
The 182D didn’t get 10% of the attention of the 170B on the ramp at the CAF event so it’s dominance of speed in the sky makes it feel better, haha!
