18" of new snow and a towered airport

The same day, about 20 minutes and 20 miles apart. I wanted to take these two pictures since I got the idea to install the wheel skis, they are working beyond my expectations :D About 3.5 hrs today and 30 or so landings, I am making the most of it as the snow will go fast!

Looks like a great time. Is the dog jealous?

Speaking of the dog.... the other significant photo of the day, that really highlights what the concept of retractable wheel skis means in a practical sense, follows.

I had to plow outside my hangar, and up to my staging area, but I left the runway as was. This picture show how upon landing (and as this was the first landing on skis at my strip I cheated, and landed at the very beginning of the 400' available) then fast taxied until I neared the gravel, coasted to a stop, holding my position with the throttle, and 15 seconds later as the skis retracted/wheels were exposed, continued my taxi up onto the gravel and two 90 degree turns later it was ready to pull into the hangar. You can see the transition in the tracks in the snow. In fact the wheel mode works so good I was tempted to land on a couple gravel bars (no snow) today, but didn't want to get greedy! Then later the wind came up the mountain and it was pretty much ridge soarable power off, but I passed on that also, it would have made a good picture though.
