If you don't want to spend $300,000.00 to make a 60 plus year old Cessna 180 NEW!! You can buy a brand new Maule.

If I were going to land off airport. I WOULD NOT GET A NOSE WHEEL!!!! I have had multiple friends get nose wheels stuck in sand. I have helped replace a bent prop on nose wheels from taxiing off airport.

Cessna 180 hands down no competition. Not only is it a great airplane but it is also the best investment. It will out appreciate the others by far. The market for Skywagons has never depreciated and only can continues to rise at a dramatic rate. Mine has appreciated 40% in the last four years alone.

I’d go 180, not sure how you’d spend 300k on one, hope you ended up with a turbine on the front if you did lol

The sky wagons are really good all around planes, landing off field, floats, tundras, skis, cross country, IMC, good balance.

I've seen the video (if its the one I'm thinking of, with Kevin and crew?) and it would have been a very bad day in a 182.

That's the one.

I’m sure one could spend that money, especially if you were a drop it off and call me when it’s done kinda guy, but I wouldn’t want to be in a 185 for 300k, let alone a 180. I will note, I haven’t looked at the sky wagon market in a while

But it's definitely a mission specific question as well. If you never have any intention of going into High Boy, and all you want to do is land at Johnson or Smiley Creek, then a 182 is a great platform and a fantastic value, especially when compared to the Skywagon market. IMO

Hey Jeremy! That was the golden era of BCP. 3 shot gun shells and the Johnson Creek fly in's. Then the fun police cracked down. I miss them days! I'm still flying the same Maule. It has been a great plane. I have 2200 hours in it. Hope you are well!

Cheers...Rob
