Hey guys, i picked up a set of rear glass off ebay cheap for my 182. Im going to cut them down, have them tinted or try it myself and i should have some nice plug in tinted inserts. I will let you know how it goes, im also having a plastic shop cut some glass that i will tint very lightly to insert in the door windows as well, i live in a pretty hot place in the summer, i also think it will quietmy cabin down having dual pane glass essentially.

Plan:
Cut glass down, it has old glue on itfrom plane taken out of...a good template
Clean and tint glass, 20% rear, sides 5% rear, front door glass maybe 50-70% or no tint
Fabricate a rubber type grommet, seal to insert windows with for a tight fit.

What did you use to tint the windows. I would like to tint the back windows of my 172 without replaceing the glass if possible

The tint sucked...bigtime. It was static cling tint, looked perfect no bubbles came back today, bubbles everywhere. Went to plastic shop had them cut out 10% tinted plastic with good optic clarity and im now done. Same theory, just no window tint.
