182P big wheel mod

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Re: 182P big wheel mod

I considered the idea of getting another half off eBay but the price for this wasn’t cheap and the big backlog component right now is the bearing.
The wheel arrived pretty greasy and the damage in the advertised pictures appeared to me to be grease. The pic above was after I cleaned them up. To their credit, TAS had no issue granting a return authorization.

Meanwhile another BCP member sold me a spare he had. The rim has a minor bend but I think it is serviceable. The shop says they can get it installed late next week.

So, I can finally close out this thread.
I sent back the damage wheel.
After getting another used nose wheel which had a slight dent, and the shop rejecting it as unserviceable, I had them order a new one. It finally arrived and the Airglas fork box was opened only to find the strut block missing. I had to send the entire fork kit back and wait for a new one. Last week, the shop finally got it all together.

She looks good. You and Corefile will have to get together with your birds side by side for a photo. Been fun following both of you guys.
