Currently flying with 8.50 x 6.00 tires. Getting ready to take some off airport training and the instructor recommended I get 29" tires.

I'm based in Texas (where everything either sticks, stings, or stabs). I will also be flying to places like New Mexico, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming for hunting and fishing.

Based on my mission are 29" Bushwheels or Tundra Tires the better choice? Or?

You will be very happy with the the 1st if your not doing a lot of rough stuff and using pavement a bit.

The other 29'a are heavy.

I'd go with AK Bushwheels 10 inch wheel adapters and either 29/11/10 tires or 8.50/10 tires UNLESS you can operate MOSTLY on something other than pavement.

AK Bushwheels 10 inch wheels are stc's. I don't think the "tundra tires are yet.

Bushwheels are great, but heavy airplanes and pavement will wear them fast...bring $$$$

Good point, Mike. I'm just curious. Any idea the difference in main gear weight between a 185 and 180? I'm guessing the 185 is much heavier. But don't know by how much (give or take 10-20 pounds depending on Mods and equipment).
