Have you landed Waldo in the summer when you're on floats? Really beautiful area.

I forget where you're based?

Re: 2013.02.02.Waldo.Lake

Hi Zzz,

Never alighted on Lake Waldo, every visit to Oregon the weather kept me away from the Lake. I have operated floats from Cougar Lake which is close. This summer, when the amphibs are on, I will try again for Lake Waldo. I talked with the Oregon Dept. of Aviation about Lake Waldo, they said just give them a call before we go so they have an idea who's there.

The East side of the Cascades blows my mind! Lots of protected forests, lakes, rivers!

The Scout is based Newport, KONP.

Thank you for your comments.

I used to live in the northwest, and I miss the wild beauty of the really clear days. There just weren't enough of them. Your shots did bring back a lot of good memories though. Thanks for the posting.

The burned area in the foreground is the Charlton lake fire in august 1996. It sucked all the water out of numerous pot hole lakes and a huge fire whirl blew all the timber down in a circle that if just out of view off the bottom of the photo.

I was always wondering about that area? It looks spooky.

Thank you. You solved an issue I had.
