Anyone in Southern California who wants to do a good cost-sharing deal on a ride up to Reno in a 172, please call my friend Tim Farmer at 818-248-2934.

Tim has free use of a 172, and wishes to split the avgas, Motel 6, and car gas in Reno. He will be leaving EARLY Thursday morning from Tehachapi Municipal airport, and returning Monday. (Nobody but us freak-a-zoid glider scum wants to be in the Owens Valley in the afternoon!)

So if you want in on this and you are close enough for it to be convenient, call him ASAP.

Hope to land at KRNO tomorrow before 11 and take a shuttle from the main terminal to the races (Atlantic FBO says there is one), spend a few hours, and take off for E16 about 1600 assuming the lenticular clouds don't scare me into spending the night.

At Oshkosh, met the owners of two of the Thunder Mustangs racing so I thought it would be somewhat more meaningful to make the trip (as if I needed much of an excuse to fly).

I'll be looking for back country pilot t-shirts.

looks like I will be driving up with the family Friday afternoon. Be at the races Sat. probably carrying a twin on my back. maybe we will catch some of you there. Hey rjb, didn't know there was another BCP'er at E16, I rent my planes from Magnum.

So we are planning to land RNO Friday about 5pm. Atlantic is charging a $25 event fee and $25/night tiedown with the first night waived if we buy fuel at $7.15/gallon . So 2 nights will cost us $50 plus about an additional $60 over what I normally would pay for fuel. Tickets and pit passes for 4 - $250. So for one day at the races, that is $360 before paying for lodging, food, and beverage. Hmm..., may have to rethink this one; ok done, well be there! See everyone at the Santa Fe so add seats for 4 more if you can!

We can only bring water through the gate so is someone buying adult beverages for the hangar and collecting donations to cover the cost of drinks/beer?

Heading out Friday AM from Idaho, we will fly to Fallon to pick up a vehicle and then drive to the Siena. Planning on heading to the Santa Fe about 5:00 pm to hang out and then the races for Saturday. See you there.

Hanger will be open today around 11-1130. We have plenty of beer and drink in the hanger! Remember its also a great place to just hang out and relax as well. Margs will be flowing and the beer is cold!

Again the best way to find the hanger is to find the Eaa tent on spin 180. Walk 300' or so and the hanger is on the left. Door will be open and green and white cub is inside. Silver Excursion or black Audi parked next to it.

Too late for me to plan to be there (already committed to my loads this week). But, I'm going to plan to be there next year!

Friday morning, I'll be picking up a load 250 miles east of you guys in the middle of the Nevada wasteland. Then headed back for Montana. Hmm, I wonder if Reno isn't too far out if the way?? (Just dreaming)

Tri-Tip sounds good, Kevin! If you need a BBQ Pit Master next year, I'm in for sure! I can grill up some tasty Tri-Tip.

I saw Stega's canopy blew apart at 500mph yesterday just as he entered the course! Bet that was a rush... They are working feverishly to get it ready for the next round.

Where in the heck were you guys at for crying out loud. I walked the ramp and hangers from one end to the other from 10:00AM to just after 3:00PM. Tan BCP shirt and hat and a dumb look. That's me. Late afternoon and evening were not a good time to be flying in. Tomorrow will be good at that time I think.
EB and others, just follow AKTAHOE1's directions - you will fall over BCP guys tomorrow.
Tonight Santa Fe was packed with two other groups. They expect a lot tomorrow as well..Told them to expect about 20 BCP.

We can't leave EKO until 3pm so we are optimistic it will be better than the last 2 afternoons which were both no-go's from here anyway. It is only about an 1:45 ETE for us. Otherwise, it is a 4-hour drive meaning we'll miss dinner.

Family and I just drove in tonight, will try to stop by tomorrow.

AKT, I've got a few sixer's I'd like to get inside to share with people either tomorrow or saturday, will give you a call or text tomorrow for a plan

Had some thunderstorms go by last night and it cooled the air off and it was so nice.

Don't forget dinner tonight Santa Fe around 5 o'clock will meet.

Thanks EB. That helps as I haven't been there before. It looks like Paul and I are both on the edge of a convective sigment. We should both be able to get out or around it I think. See ya'all around 5:30 or so. I'll be the bald guy with the petite long-hair chick.
