Debrief, share, and hopefully learn from the mistakes of others.
Truly despicable. The system is broken. Both the contingency fee plaintiffs bar and the defense bar profit from these abuses. They contribute heavily to both parties, so there is no prayer for tort reform (or banking reform, or ____, or _____) until there is campaign finance reform. And what are the prospects for that? We have met the enemy . . . .

Wow. I know some of us who contributed to their medical fund are not impressed at all by this. I suppose the old adage about walking a mile in someone else's shoes might hold true here, but damn.

What a dirtbag! Let's hope common sense prevails. I'm not holding my breath, however...

I often feel like I have somehow been transported to "alternate-reality" universe, given all the goings on these days.

It's said in the worker's comp world here in AK that "Stupidity is compensable" . . . I guess that applies in the aviation world now too . . .

Just read this thread for the first time. Unbelievable is all I can say.
If I would go out and get drunk, then drive and get in an accident and kill someone, id be held criminally negligent and do time. Yet I can way overload my plane, not strap anything down, crash and kill my kid, then sue? The system is majorly f'ed up.
Kudos to all the volunteers that saved the other 4.

The winner is the person with the most stories when he dies, not the most gold.

just found this thread now.
another nod of respect for the folks who jumped in to help. tick, you've got my respect. most i ever did was cut a backpack off a bicyclist who got busted up bad when a car hit him. shook me up right good. i hope you've had folks to talk it out with and have some semblance of peace! god knows you and the others deserve it.
