Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

206 Robertson STOL

We have a 206 with a Robertson STOL that will not trim out to the stated 65 knots without violating Cessna's trim adjustments. The STC does not allow for violating the adjustments. Does anyone have any experience with this? Feel free to email me directly if you don't want to put your answers out for the world to see.

What trim adjustments are you referring to, and what stated 65 knots?

The STC calls for a flight check. Full flaps, power off, full nose up trim. Plane should trim to 65 +/- 5 kts. Ours does 85. We have the trim adjusted to the max allowable by Cessna. We're in discussions with the new owner of the STC. He's still coming up to speed.

Check your CG data for the required trim speeds. You may not be able to obtain the required trim speed at FWD CG limmits.

Dolan,

Gotcha--a new installation.

First thing I'd check is where the wing eccentrics are set. That should have an effect on what you're talking about.

Other than that, I guess the owner of the STC should be able to figure it out.

You might contact Boundary Layer Research, Inc in western WA, specifically Bob De Rusche. I believe, if memory serves, he was at one time a flight test engineer for Robertson systems, when they were approving those STC's. I think.
