) all this and a bit more made it worth the minor hassle getting it in there. I work that S-7 HARD and it needs some loving attention every now and then. It takes care of me and vice versa. It's odd, not having it in the shop, completed, ever, kind of shocked me this AM when I walked in there! In the hangar, no one sees it, my UPS man should get a laugh the next time he's by. Yeah, but the house is only 800 sq ft.! I was out of money by the time I got around to building it.
New carbon fiber Hoernor wing tips were the main reason, and I changed my mind right before starting to cut the fabric off the wing, like a second before! I gave some deep thought to the work entailed, doing this to a completed wing, a PITA, simple as hell for a new build! So, no new tips, Hoernor or otherwise, and since I already had the (battered) stock/came with the kit glass tips off, I am trashing them. The earlier S-7's just used the tip bow, the glass is just for looks, they fly the same without them, so they are in the trash can and all I'll do is finish paint the fabric over the tip bows and I saved 5 lbs! I HOPE TO SELL THE CARBON TIPS TO A BUILDER OF A S-7S OR A S-20 (same wing!) who has not yet built the wings, a shameless plug

Other wise, routine maintenance, some work back at the tail post area that will allow easier inspection, (leaving off some fabric back there, easier to see what's going on, the Cub guys do that)straightening out or replacing some of the lower stab stainless flying wires that get beat up by rocks, some tweaking and maybe changing where and how those wires attach, taking the Airstreaks off prior to putting the 8:00's on for the wheel skis, a new rudder cable that I shorted out when installing a new battery () all this and a bit more made it worth the minor hassle getting it in there. The rope comalong, carried in the plane for emergencies and thus far never needed, is another handy thing, it makes using a regular cable/reel type comalong a real PITA.
