3 strips gongolgon/byrock region

got bored waiting for parts to arrive yesterday, so since the tractor was sitting there and there was water in the river for the first time in 7 years, I thought I would spend a few hours clearing a little strip. 215m but I will clear about another 35-45 m over the next few days. a couple of bog pits each end I will dump some red dirt on probably today and that will dry those bits out but its time to head home, grab my plane and my rod and land some yellow belly and murray cod!

next I ran over to another strip about 70 Km away, hadnt been used in about 35 years so was fairly rutted out, so jumped on the bobcat and gave it a bit of a tidy up, got 2 or 3 little gums that are starting to grow up in the guts of it I will head back later and pluck then out but should only take 20 minutes. This and the next site will be strips for a fly in I have in the pipe line. lets think of it as Australia's answer to the HSF.

at the eastern end of the strip there is a perfect camping and parking area. its on a 278 000 acre property and the owners are best described as the wild bunch, so basically anything goes!

The 3rd stip is an old lake bed, which has green in it for the first time in 7 years! and even a drop of water to! so normally this is all just red dust.

this strip needs a bit more love so Ill spend a day on it next time Im out here. Its got a water channel that washed through it about 15 years ago so I will grade that out. there are also a couple of trees I will pop out with the excavator which will take the strip out to 1000m.thought that would be perfect for the fly in as while there is plenty of off airport opportunity's around for bush flyers, would be nice to have a good length base strip so anyone can join us.

there shearers quarters are also based on the banks of this lake so anyone who wants to come in with family or doesn't feel like camping can crash there instead.

dam right we will rob! I started a face book page called Bush Flyers Down under a few weeks ago, trying to bring out a few more bush flyers from the wood work! its working so far, looking at doing a fly in on that lake bed in April/may next year. Its looking promising so far! Im guessing your not a face booker, but if you are look it up!

Hi Tim, no, I am not on face book, I nearly brought a Tshirt with "NO I am not on fcuking Facebook" on the front. But Kat is on Facebook and she found the site and asked to joint the group but no one has approved the request, possibly because she is wearing a corset  and has nothing aviation related in her feed. If someone can approve her request well I guess I will be on Facebook by defacto relationship.

Hey mate, cant find the request, might be worth getting her to re do it, make sure its the page Bush Flyers Down Under, you will know its the right one as your planes the cover photo! and dont worry about her not having anything aviation related on her page, girls in corsets are an instant accept!
