30,203 feet in a Super Cub

I stole this from SuperCub.org. Don't know if you have to be logged in or not to view it. Hopefully you can, as this is a worthy story...

Thanks for the links! Both articles were awesome to read, and I really liked the story about Caro Bayley. She seems to have that 'go for it' quality very much like Jerrie Mock, the first woman to fly around the world solo!

Dam 30,000 in a cub I can't imagine how she did that without Mt up drafts  I am sure she did, but I never been a cub that would do half that. Course my 230 # might have held me back  Left King Salmon on a flight to Anchorage in a cub, wheel skis, belly tank. lots of turbulence down low in the pass decided to go high. Clear in ANC somewhere over lake Clark Pass overcast topped out at 13,000 thought I could get over it  Full power airspeed around 50 mph for climb, vertical speed was at zero  Wheels dragging the tops of the clouds. Thought I was screwed. Was trying to remember that needle ball and airspeed shit they taught us in flt school #-o. [-o< 40 minutes later over cook inlet clouds broke up, sailed into ANC vowed never to do that again #-o
