5" wheels bigger tires
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?
Is there any way to mount bigger tires on 5" Cleveland wheels? I don't want to change axles, brakes etc.
If not, Is there a way to put bigger wheels on the 1-1/4" axle & Cleveland rotor & pads? This is going on a flying CH701.

Check on the VansAirForce website. A lot of RV drivers have put larger 380-150 x 5 tires on their RVs. These are a bit bigger than the normal tires, but not a whole lot, and they do fit on the original cleveland wheels. On my RV-9 I have slightly longer axles (by an inch) and put some Matco 6" wheels with 800-6 tires. Matco has wheels that will fit a 1.25" axle that the RVs use and they are considerably less expensive than the clevelands.

+1 on both of Greg's recommendations.

Thanks Greg,
I already have the 380-150X5 on. I will look into the Matco wheels.

Don't know if he has anything for you, but Robbie Grove seems to produce some nice wheel and brake stuff.

+1 on Grove's stuff. I am biased because he's a personal friend, but regardless of that his design and manufacturing quality is exceptional. Truly an innovator.

Greg
Do you know how tall the 380-150 x 5's are?

No, I don't know exact measurements, but they still fit within the wheel pants on most RVs, so not a lot bigger than the standard tires. Here's a link to a fellow in CO who changed them out, with a photo for comparison. He says about 1" additional diameter. I know several folks who have put them in without any changes to the fairings, but it will depend on how the fairings were originally built.

If it was me, I'd just bite the bullet and buy a set of 6" wheels.
There's a whole world of 6" tires choices large and small.
Matco sells wheels but from the little I've seen I'd prefer Groves.

Thanks, Greg, for the info and link. I've got 8.00x6's on my Kitfox mains and want to put something larger than the standard 5.00x5 on the nose. I've been thinking of a 6.00x6 on the nose but will need to modify the nose gear to do it (an easy mod). The 38--150x5 doesn't look like it will help much. I also have Grove wheels/brakes on the mains and they are great.

FWIW someone just posted a set of NOS Cleveland 40-75 wheels and brake discs on the Marketplace forum for $600. I haven't priced wheels lately but that looks like a pretty good price to me.
