I suggest you move on.

There's a difference between speaking freely and being an offensive menace.

Gladly. The real flying is much better! You can also pull my BCP ticket and wipe your ass with it!!!!!

The debate is not the problem, J. The topic was and is a good one. I hope no one is getting the idea that I am suggesting we limit the breadth of topics around here. The Sierra Club is directly relevant to us, it needs to be discussed. Beer is fun, it should be discussed. Even weird shit like the photo of the fat lady superimposed on the Super Cub...it's fun. I'm not suggesting we don't get off topic periodically.

I'm suggesting, and it IS a suggestion, hence the term "caveat," that people lighten up on the heat with the political name game. To some it's fun to battle on the internet, to others, their blood boils. It's up to all of you to keep this a fun a lighthearted place to visit. It's easy to get soured on an entire site just because of the comments of one or 2 people....even with the thickest skin. The skiing forums I read and post in everyday are HARSH! Straight up "fuck you douchebag" and the like. Much of it is tongue in cheek, but not everyone gets the joke sometimes.

I've meddled enough as it is this week...sorry ya'll! As you were. Janitor out...

Zane, we have never met but I feel sorry you had to deal with that. Thanks!

ZANE said "I'm glad to say that it's likely no one cares about my political beliefs, so in addition to remaining neutral around here, I won't presume to share them. It's a surefire way to alienate people we might have a lot in common with."
Ok Mr. Switzerland. I do care about your political beliefs, especially since you pay my wages. But you are smart to keep them to yourself. I don’t have that kind of control. It takes two to tangle. If I read something here I don’t like I just click the mouse. Debate is part of what makes our country great. I for one will tone it down a bit. Squaretail I got no problem with your thoughts. I agree real flying is better than sitting at the PC. I’ll bet we all agree with that. Kind regards…Rob

I am going flying now and when I get back I tell you just how good it was while you sat here and jerked off on the keyboard!

When you said "over and out" before, I thought you meant it. Promises, promises. I'm no shrinking violet, and I'm all for free speech, but I gotta agree with Zane-- there's a difference between speaking freely and being deliberately offensive.
Excuse me now while I go remove my propeller from my ass. At least I have a certain someone's BCP ticket to wipe up with afterwards.

Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!

Political arguments have ruined a couple of friendships at our airport. Personallly I'm pretty conservative, no I'm very conservative, but I stay away from political stuff at the airport. It seems like BCP pilots get together now and then and I certainly will try to attend a fly in if I can, but I'd rather not get in a pissing contest over something none of us can change..... :P

Please don't let that one poster influence all of your opinions about the people in NW MT.... not all of us feel the need to talk and act that way... I for one, am totally embarrassed that he's from anywhere near this state.....
Zane, this site is great, and you do an awesome job of keeping things in line, and sometimes it's by not doing anything... I appreciate it!!

God put me here to accomplish a certain amount of things...right now I'm so far behind, I'll never die!!

I just wish that old square tail would just say what is on his mind and not sugar coat It. ( This is supposed to be an attempt at humor, so please don't get defensive.) :D

I agree. If anyone wants to check out argumentative idiocy that masquerades as debate go check out the "safety and security" section of the flyertalk frequent flyer website. While not a direct tie into GA or ownership/flying for personal pleasure, it sure will show how not to spend quality time on the internet. EVERYTHING is a conspiracy there....

The internet is a "great thing". The good outweighs any bad it produces, but I do believe in some aspects it contributes to the "dumbing down" of America. When you don't have to face someone it becomes easier to forget common courtesy, and respectful debate.

Opinions are mandatory and a right, jam them down my throat and we have problem. I have mine and I'll not put them over on someone else. There's a line there. Zane, thanks for the open forum, I agree with the others, well done.
I won't partake of these debates simply because I strive to keep it about flying. Politics aside, I've had the opportunity to meet some really good people from here. I have my own thoughts and conduct myself accordingly. I don't expect anyone but my kids to listen to what I have say.
Nice job Zane.

Wow. I divorced myself from the computer for a week and missed out on all of the drama. Maybe it's a good thing my job takes me out of the house a few days a week.

If I'm not mistaken, you have spent YOUR time and YOUR money to make this site available to all of us to enjoy FREE of charge. I, for one, don't want to see this site turn into what you've seen on the skiing sites you post on. Keep meddling!
