Is everybody in the Grangeville, Orofino, Weippe area still in one piece? 2" hail 50mph winds, and some crazy lightning pushed through yesterday. I will post the pics tonight. I've never heard of or seen hail like that up there. I am planning on landing in Orofino on he 17th. Sure hope it decides to be spring up there pretty quick!!

Here in SE Idaho it was 86 yesterday (at 6,000') and 49 this AM. Plus the wind switched from strong outa the SE to strong outa the N. It would not have been a good day in the backcountry.

Welcome to what we call NORMAL here in the panhandle of Nebraska. The wind is gusting to 35 out of the south right now..we need moisture bad but when it comes this time of year it often has the hard round kind you are eluding to in your post. Got hailed on three times last summer and the only reason we haven't got hailed on yet this summer is because it hasn't rained much...saw the red area on the wx map last night for ID....figured someone was getting hammered!

Just talked to my Dad in Grangeville and Grangeville was just on the edge of the storm. Small hail, lightning and winds, but nothing big. He did say that Weippe got smacked pretty hard.

It takes a big man to cry. But it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
