A Maule, Super Cub and a C180 on the prowl in England

Not as good as you guys have it in the States but...

My mates and I had a good day out to some 'strips' in the south west of England. It's possible to land anywhere if you have the landowners permission 8) ...it was a fun day out. :D

Scroll through the bs as there are three lots of photos.

I'm Grumpy Old Pilot there... :)

AerotechFlyer is A340 pilot

QDMQDM is Dave, the Super Cub pilot. He is a Dr and is going to Alaska for three months from May to do all the Cub stuff there...

When we get together we have a ball.

...remember, life is uncertain, eat desert first!
... and, those that pound their guns into plows, will plow for those who don't.

Nice photos!

I'd like to hear to the story how that Cessna with the "N" number got across to your side.

Must have been a fun adventure...

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Is this a subtle jab / complaint Zane res our general lack of: "There I was..." ?

I thought this was going to be joke--"So, a Maule, a Supercub and a 180 walk into this bar . . .

The 180 says "I'll take the 195--she's not my Mom, though. She's my cousin"

The Supercub says "Whatever. I'll take the Jetranger. I'm gonna show 'er the meaning of 'short.'"

The Maule looks around and says, "Uh, dibs on the Wilga!"

Sorry.

Glad you liked it. :) I always thought that the Wilga was the aeronautical equivalent of Lech Walesa in lingere.

OH Yea! Love to see the mud on the underside of those wings.

Yep - that mud is the 'mud of freedom' but it's mixed up with sheep and cow sh!t and is hard to remove !!!

Mixed mud on your wings you say!!
So there I was flying a Maule over the pond from US via Greenland, Iceland and now Scotland.
11000ft on top and VFR and luckily a hole over Glasgow airport.
Permission granted to descend by circling in the hole and suddenly a case of diar (you know, after bad food) my girlfriend took over flying.
Had to crouch on the front seat, (all fuel tanks in back) put a plastic bag in a ritz cracker box and 'do the job' rapidly.
Cleaned up, nasty aroma, tied knot in bag, could'nt stand it, opened window and dropped. Whew that's over.
Took control and landed at Glasgow Int.
Parking fellow waves us into parking place.
Customs fellow walks around plane before we can get on foreign soil.
Airport manager fellow comes to welcome us.
Fuel truck fellow arrives and sets ladder which I climb to fuel top of wing while looking back.
Fuel fellow sees my grimace and also sees side of Maule..............all covered in........... you guessed it. Bag broke.
No fine fellow had said a word. British stiff upper lip you know.
Rather large birds up there I muttered.
