Longmont, CO has an interesting prairie dog problem:

I propose that the city of Longmont gives a five gallon avgas voucher for each dead prairie dog. Pilots could fill up for the cost of a handful of .22 shells, runway safety would be improved, and Longmont could get their annual $250K state grant. Everybody's happy! (well...except for the prairie dogs)
