A truly gifted pilot.
Debrief, share, and hopefully learn from the mistakes of others.
Yep, that's a skill set, alright

The news guy who shot that video is so proud of the zoom in on the "laughing clowns" sign, and the pull out to the Ferris wheel.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
I've heard that flying with those Aussie pilots is like being on a carnival ride...can't wait for Drifterdriver to chime in on this one!

That is a Jabiru powered Morgan Aeroworks 2 sitter. The Australian CAA had effectively grounded all the Jabiru powered aircraft about a year or so ago. Wonder if this is yet another Jabiru engine failure...
The planes themselves are pretty impressive performers looking at the numbers.
I'll bet most pilots can come up with a better place to ditch than a ferris wheel though

I guess Australia is a much smaller country then i thought, if that is what he had to use for an emergency LZ, holy shit!
It looked like a fun crane job though, that looks like at least a 50 to 70 ton crane, way bigger then needed, but what the heck. I'd been laughing my ass off if I'd been called out for that.

I heard that the CAA reversed themselves on the Jabiru grounding situation. Apparently there was a lot more to that situation, and it eventually all came out. I don't have the reference any more, but I'm sure it can be found if you're interested. Big over-reach, I think.
