Accidental Gear Down/ Waterlanding in Greenville, Maine
Debrief, share, and hopefully learn from the mistakes of others.
The seaplane community has lost a great asset and friend today - when Mr. Allen Telford's (64) Aircraft flipped and submerged during a gear down water landing in Greenville, ME.
Please take a moment out of your busy lives to remember him for what he did for the seaplane community, general aviation, his employees and friends. Not only was he very involved with SPA, he was also a highly regarded personality- locally, here in the Bangor/ Waterville area as a business owner, employer, fellow pilot and friend.
Our sincere condolences to the Telford family and close friends on their loss but also Natalie, who survived this accident.
May this accident serve as a painful reminder for all of us, that what may appear as a minor oversight can have tremendous and fatal consequences. May it also call our community closer together in hopes and activity to make accidental gear down water landings thing of the past.
