Adam's First Flight In A Light Plane

My mom got back from work one day said she was talking with a woman at work that said
her son Adam is interested in aviation. So some time after meeting and giving Adam my email
I went down to the airport asked one of the pilots I know Dallas, if he would like to take Adam up for his first flight in a small plane, he said that he would.

So on Wednesday Feb 10th 2016 Adam went for his first flight in a prop-plane (he's only flown in airliners before).

As you can see at the end of the video he got a kick out of it.

Well done. This is an important part of the process. If we infect them early, the first car doesn't come along until after marriage. All money goes to flying.

At least that is the way it was for me.

Thanks, Adam is originally from Texas and sat in planes before so he had the bug but it's just
now bit him. :)

I've gotta' say with the way it felt to make the flight happen I can only imagine what it's like to
take someone on their first flight.

How's your license coming along? There's only one way to find how how exciting it is to take someone on their first flight.

Not doing any thing right now in regards of flight training right now. For me to get a sport license in the Plains area or
even a private license i would have to go 60+ miles for a rental plane & CFI and if I want to learn in tailwheel plane well,
that just make's it that much harder. :?

I would have responded sooner but I'm away from home for awhile.

Awesome! I think these days the majority of my flights with passengers are for their first GA flight.

"Did I hear you have an airplane? We should go flying sometime!"

"How about right now?"

It sounds like you should start as soon as possible. Just start chiseling away little by little and before you know it you will be soloing, and then taking your checkride!

Don't worry about the tailwheel thing now. That can happen anytime. I would recommend going for your private certificate and skipping the sport pilot. I was going to do the exact thing you are talking about, starting with sport pilot and then maybe going private. I was going to have to drive 2 hours to take sport pilot training. Instead I drove 20 minutes to the airport and flew a cheap cherokee rental and paid a CFI $25/hr for instruction.

Aviation changed my life. Best thing I ever did.

x2. And if you really can't swing it now for whatever reason, now's the time to put pennies in the bank for the day you can.
