Anyone used these on a 180? Rated for 1600# each.

Been using them a couple years now on my 2950 GW 180. Haven’t had any issues and they wear really well on pavement.

I liked them on my '57, would do it again if I didn't sell. I switched from 800 Condors to these and actually saved 2lbs. They are soft, both the rubber and the sidewall. I personally would not run them on a big daddy survival vest heavy 180/185. Also they were cheeeaaapppp, not sure if that's still the case.

I had them on my 180, they were great... until they weren’t. Got a flat at Angle Point last year. After we got the tire off looked like the culprit was a small twig that punctured the tire and tube. Other tires would have been fine I’m sure. I won’t use the smooth dessers again on my 180.

I thought about getting a set of desser's 850 smoothies for my 180,
until I checked out a set that a buddy bought to put on his T-Craft, before he installed them.
They seemed very flimsy and light duty.
I decided to just stick with the 850 airtracs.

I think they are definitely lighter duty than most tires, as is seen in their ply rating. What Rob posted honestly isn't too surprising to me.

No doubt about it they’re probably easier to hole up than a 6 ply. I juiced mine with stans notubes and hope for the best. So far so good, but I do carry spare tubes in the plane too.

I too am concerned that the 4 ply tire is not up to a 180. I have 26 Bushwheels on it now but want a second set of 8.50s. What would be the next best choice in 8.50 six ply?
