While on the WATRS routes off the east coast heading to the islands, we monitor 123.45 for the same reasons. Every now and then I'll hear some GA traffic headed for a breakfast run...and wish I was with them! Since the freq is silent 95%, it makes for good listening.

On the North Atlantic we switch to 123.45 30 minutes out, and already have 121.5 in the #2 radio.

If some get too chatty, they are asked to go to another frequency and they do.
