Re: AirCam on Ski's

I can't imagine that it isn't being done..... the Air Cam would make an AWESOME ski plane! All that power relative to it's weight, and best of all differential thrust! And, it is already so expensive, what's a few more thousand for skis? Seriously, even wheel skis like the Datums I have (check with Jean at Datum) would just be a small bump in the total cost, and anyone flying an Air Cam must have a sense of aeronautical humor that would fit right in with the concept of ski flying. It would be very serious fun :D

Oh yeah, I forgot it's open cockpit pretty much....so electrically heated clothing like the biker tourers' use would take care of that.

Re: AirCam on Ski's

It wouldnt be any worse than snowmobiling. I am going to measure the axles and see what ski would fit.

Re: AirCam on Ski's

Blake, Phil Lockwood and Richard Johnson were going to come to MN and use my skis to try rig one up last season but it never happened yet, i'll call Richard and see if they want to try again being they are working on the cabin eclosure. It would make a great ski machine! Hey Blake, PM me if you still have tose 1500 aqua's.

Don't forget, they (AirCam) are developing a light weight 'cockpit'... er,.... 'enclosure' for the pilot/passenger for more....... er,... well,... 'seasonal versatility'....... =D> :)
Hopefully, it will be easy to R&R.

A very intriguing/appealing aircraft 'as is'....
