Aircraft disassembly and transport
A general forum for anything related to flying the backcountry. Please check first if your new topic fits better into a more specific forum before posting.
Anyone know of a reasonably price outfit that can disassemble and transport an aircraft on fairly short notice. Plane in question will need wings removed and removed from it's current hangar before the end of January. Plane is a 2-seat, metal construction.
I had a list of haulers but for some reason I can't find it in my searches.

Fabricman in Huntsville Ar. He’s hauling a Bearhawk QB kit to Alaska later this month...I’m flying his PA22/20 airplane to Anchorage...he’ll be hauling it back to Ar. Can’t fly through Canada with a basic medical....enclosed 24’ trailer and a big Ferd...

Yes, the one downside to the Basic Medical! I posed the question to Mark Baker (AOPA President) at the Greater Minnesota Aviation Gathering last year. He mentioned that it was going to be something they are trying to change. Supposedly there was a multi-national aviation conference the middle of the summer and it was a topic they were going to discuss.

Ya I really hope Canada and the US can come to an agreement on a couple things. 2 of the biggest for me are for you guys to be able to fly basic med through Canada, and for us to be able to fly our homeowner maintained planes into the US.

Getting owner maintenance planes the ability to fly in the US would really allow that to grow here in Canada. Never made sense to me that you can take an “owner maintained” home built but not an owner maintained previously certified plane.
