Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
Hmmm. I know when I lived back up there lots of trikes flew out of Birchwood. I sold some round canopies to the guys there that were looking at putting ballistic chutes on them. I wonder if it was a trike or some other aircraft type. Sucks it happened, that's for sure.

Anyone heard anything about what happened. The only thing I've seen in the news is that it was about 200' above the trees and just "went in"...no time to fire the chute.

Short one paragraph article in the Anchorage Daily News today. It basically said.......no license, no medical, very low time, and without approval from the instructor for a solo flight! Took off from BCV and crashed near Eklutna..... Was seen porpoising in the air supposedly...... Hmmmmmmmmm

What a tragedy. I noticed the word "Homemade" used in the news article, rather than the more politically FAA and EAA correct "Amatuer Built".
