aircraft paint

by z3skybolt » Mon Sep 21, 2009 5:05 pm

I am repainting a small section of white on my Maule. It was painted in 1994 and the paint used is listed as

Dupont Imron and Pratt & Lambert Acry-glo.

White 817
Mariner Blue 77446U
Black 010

How do I know which one is the white and does anyone know of a source for it? I have tried searching the internet and come up empty handed as to those numbers and colors. Anyone out here have a clue?

You can email me at [email protected] or PM me here.

Thanks.

Re: aircraft paint

Most any automotive paint store can mix those for you. The Imron is now sold as Imron 5000 (at least around here), a watered down version to meet new EPA standards.., and they should be able to convert those other codes as well.... Good luck with the paint ....

Re: aircraft paint

Back when I was into the street rod stuff, black Imron was numbered 99U. So my gut feeling is the white and black are P&L products and the blue is Dupont Imron.

IMHO. #-o
