We took advantage of a rare cloudbreak that lasted several days and flew to Alaska's outer coast . The fishing was great!

Thanks for posting this. Have wanted to get to AK for the longest time. That video gives me a lot of motivation. Maybe 2013 will be the year.
Any of those fishing spots accessible with wheels??
Thanks!! Larry

VMC,
We never meet in YT. I have been in Talkeetna a few times.
Meet up with a few pilots there. Great fishing.
Fly safe. Ken

Great vid. Cute gal. I'm pretty jealous. Of the fishing and flying, that is. Got my own cute gal.

I enjoyed your other videos on Vimeo too, especially the Chulitna gravel bar T&G's.

Did you see that bear coming or was it a surprise?
Good video!

If it looks smooth, it might be. If it looks rough, it is...www.bigtirepilot.com ...www.alaskaheliski.com
Totally dug the video... the action and the edit! One of the very coolest things you have going for you is your special significant other loves what you love. That's priceless.

Thanks again for the kind comments, they inspire us.
88H - The fishing places in the video are not wheel accessible. The lagoon is in a tidal zone with soft ground. Our base camp was a 20 minute flight away at a location with no salmon and fewer bears. There is a landable saltwater beach there at low tide, but no safe haven for a wheel plane because the beach steepens and terminates in walls of massive driftwood. Assured destruction if you can't fly back out! I don't like those kind of beaches. The outer coast is savage. I know of a few good wheel places in Southcentral/Southwest AK for fishing that I can recommend if you fly up.
aktahoe1 - There were a number of bears that were not happy about losing their fishing spot. A few bears moved stealthily around us in the tall grass but I wasn't aware of this bear until it lunged at my fish. Bold SOB! The sound of a flopping salmon must be unbearable for them. I wasn't willing to let it have my fish because I really wanted it and I didn't want the bear to associate people with food. You may have noticed the bugs were fierce!
Spinner - You are so right!
