Awesome vid! I want to get a camera set up to be able to film from that angle.

Re: Alaska Ski Flying

Z find the one with the belly sitting in the snow deep enough that you have to use the snowshoes thru the wind to get the door open, and then spend the next 18 hours tromping a runway out after digging the plane out. Fly it of the side of the runway!! Get it back on the strip and back up to the top, then get out and both of you are turning it around by hand, you know each on one side of the tail, pick it up and one pushes it over on to the other guy!! and every 4th time you switch sides. The tail ski moves about 6" every time, after about 120 degrees you hear this pop and then the gear leg detaches itself from the ski and falls into the snow???? About that time you make very prolific and bodacious comments on how stupid your mothers son is!. Wait, there was no one taking pictures!!
Then you have 5 days sitting there pulling the gear leg out, trampping the runway down every day, and waiting for the weather to get good enough for some other fool stupid enough to fly parts in to get you out of there. Do you know in May at 4000' it can still snow 18" every damn day!
Legs of IRON when you get done.

Re: Alaska Ski Flying

Cool-

Looks like they're set up for telemetry work- antennae visible near the end of the vid.

Wonder how much recording time was necessary to get those three minutes. Cold battery, inadvertent powder on lens, time to take off and circle to land, etc, etc. Three cheers for the end result. Thanks
