Alaska Tour

This past April while doing a work related course in anchorage, I was lucky enough to get a free day between courses and rented a Super Cub on skis. Stripped down for weight with the 180hp engine the performance of this thing was unbelievable. being my first time flying anything tailwheel or on skis it gave me a whole new respect for the duty back country guys out there. Really opened my eyes that a guy does not need much to get in the air and go for a burn. I'm spoiled with the 182. Rented this thing at ACME cub training at Lake Hood, and a big thanks to Steve Williams and Richard Wight of ACME for everything. Truly one of my greatest flights so far.
Took off from Lake hood and north through the Knik Arm, Turned East through the Chugach mountains and after a few low passes over the Knik Glacier did some Ski landings with a couple other beavers that were in the area over Inner lake George. A few more touch and go's off some ridges and then west through the park and then North west up Turnagain Arm over the Seward highway! I wish I could give the play by play with the photos but I haven't figured how to place photos in the threads yet.

Re: Alaska Tour

Solo or dual? What kind of prices? It sure does sound like a lot of fun.
