Amphib caravan ride
Information and discussion about seaplanes, float planes, and water operations.
Woke up this morning with a txt offering a seat on the local seaplane tour caravan. Caravan on amphibs is on my bucket list to fly and this ride confirmed it. Great operation Desert Splash Adventures operates out of Scottsdale during the winter. They are part of island air up in AK that operates scheduled ifr seaplane service.
Thanks to Rob for fueling the stoke on getting my commercial ses add on!

Yes they do. I was grateful enough to be asked to fill an empty seat. Rob, the pilot, has been really helpful in answering all my questions about float flying etc..

...Loved flying the Caravan on amphibs. So much fun that I'm surprised it was legal! Fueling on the "hard" without single point refueling was a bit of a pain though. Still...worth it!

Yeah, I think I officially have the bug. SES addon this summer with I hope about 20-25 hrs of flight time in AK. Figure out how to get some more float time and release the golden handcuffs and try to become a float bum.

That's OK. Just have to figure out how to make it all work to build time while living in Phoenix.

Been contemplating an S7 on amphibs, but we like to go places in the plane with dogs/bikes.
