Anchorage - Seward, Alaska 06/18/21 - 06/28/21

Hi Folks -

I am heading to Anchorage on 06/18 and then heading down to Seward for about 4 days and then back to Anchorage for the balance of the trip.

No serious plans yet, but if anyone has any specific recommendations for fishing or exploring in Seward, I would greatly appreciate it. Additionally, I will be needing a hotel in Seward so any recommendations with that would also be appreciated.

I won't have my airplane with me on this trip but everything else is pretty much an open slate.

Feel free to either email me or PM.

Thanks - Dave

Thornes Showcase Lounge . “Downtown “ Seward . Best deep fried chunked halibut on the planet .
Inside it is nice and dark and done up like a 1960’s mob joint . The Best !
If you are driving like you are headed out of town and just about out of town there is a nice , clean , very reasonable mom & pop motel on the left side of the hwy .

I have a friend who raves about the Showcase Lounge... so much so that I had to try it. Either he hyped it up too much and had my expectations too high or they were just having a bad day. I wasn't impressed at all. Then again, most people rave about Gwinnie's in Anchorage and I hope to never go there again. Maybe it's me.

If you like nostalgia look into the Van Gilder Hotel in Seward. It's not new and shiny but I stayed there a few years ago and it was clean and comfortable. A real classic.

Just for giggles have a look at Millers Landing. They do everything from bunk house type to B&B hospitality. Head boat trips, charters.. A little bit of everything. https://www.millerslandingak.com
