Another AK backcountry video

Here are some random clips that I dug up to make a short movie. I might post it elsewhere, but it was on BackcountryPilot.org first. I hope you enjoy it.

Very nice!

Does Hans still have a Husky? Last I remember, he bought a 200hp Husky.

Dude, that was awesome. Nice work.

That shot of the WMA Beaver landing with the rainbows was magical.

+1 If that's not a banner shot, I don't know what is. Really great!

Re: Another AK backcountry video

I'm glad you all enjoyed it. As much fun as it was making the video in iMovie, it was truly amazing to be out flying around having the opportunity to experience the backcountry. GA in the AK wilderness is a special privilege.

Yes, Hans has a fire-breathing, fuel-injected, 200 HP husky. It was a George Mandes custom factory plane that is beautiful in all respects. I have flown it and she really is a homesick angel.

There was a double rainbow that day up in the Wrangells. The beaver flew in to pick up my friends who had been out hiking for a week. Our friend Lars was at the controls of the beaver and expertly flew in and out of the strip like he does that several times a day, day in and day out....wait...that is what he does.

Here's a picture of the beaver under the rainbow. By the time I took this one, sadly the double rainbow was gone.

Nice Greg! Looks like you enjoy flying the Husky way more than the Wagon. LOL

Drool worthy! Between weather, sickness and family obligations I haven't flown in a month. In 40 years of flying I still haven't experienced vistas like those in your clips. Never take it for granted - it really is special!

Re: Another AK backcountry video

That was one of the better video I've seen in a long time. I like the variety of scenes, airplanes and locations. Good example for others to follow. Thanks

Thanks! Funny, but the wagon flew just as much as the Husky, but not as much video was taken. There are actually several clips taken of others but you can't see the wagon behind me in those scenes. Next time.
