Any Cirrus emergency landings not under the chute?

Just wondering, many chute saves which are great, many spin or other fatal terrible accidents.
But does anyone know about an emergency landing of a Cirrus not under the chute?

I ask because today I was talking to a pilot who trained in a Cirrus and he told me they never talked to him about an emergency landing, he was told many times as soon as you have any problems just pull the chute.

Im in favor of the chute, think it is great and wish my plane had one, but this kind of training its different from the training we recieved, which was fly the plane, try to solve the issue if altitude permits, find a place to land, fly the plane.

If I was flying a Cirrus and had trouble and not a flat easy place to land, I would pull the chute, dont want to arrive at 70kts to the emergency landing site in a composite airplane in rough terrain.

There was this one, with a pulled chute failing to deploy: http://www.aero-news.net/index.cfm?do=main.textpost&id=da260970-3974-400f-95b1-c095ab971053

I seem to remember another one where they tried to pull the chute:nothing, then made a successful emergency landing. Once they were stopped, the chute deployed. Can't find a link to that one though.

Seems like they have gotten the kinks out of the system now though.

Murphy's Law says if it can happen, it will happen. If a wing fell off, I would be happy to have the chute. I have had a lot of stuff happen and landed the airplane. If we fly it all the way down, it has a very low probability of killing us. Wonder what all could happen with a ballistic parachute?
