I just joined Backcountry Pilot so please forgive and direct me to any information which may already be posted. I'm looking to start an aircraft with my son, and one of the planes under consideration is the Murphy Moose. Does anyone know of completed models or planes from this manufacturer under construction in the Boise/Nampa area?

Also, if anyone has experience flying the Moose or Yukon please let me know. I'd be curious to hear about its/their flight characteristics.

there was on tied down on the ramp at cascade a year ago.... a moose that is... also Curt Jones who is the airport mgr at elk city Idaho built his moose and flew it for years.. i think he sold it but he can probably give you any info on it you need....

Ray Watson runs Moose Mods out of Eastern Washington State. He drops an LS3 Corvette engine into the frame with a custom gearbox. There are some impressive videos of his "Bull Moose" on YouTube. Here's one:
