If you're talkin about the clampers i don't know much about them at all. I know they do a lot of drinking.. And there's a lot of gravestones in cemetaries that have "E Clampus Vitus" on them up in the sierras...

The way the guy talked about it, he made it seem like a whole family affair. The guy has been known to not to be the most with it though. It wouldn't surprise me if he was the only one to bring his wife.

Thanks for the history lesson Gary... I knew it was something like that. Took me a half hour to read all of it. I believe there's a chapter in Bridgeport as there's some sort of plaque on the wall at the bar in the Bridgeport Hotel proclaiming ECV membership or words to that effect. The innitiation ceremony closely resembles that of our own revered BC+AH organization...headed by HRA Mr Scout....and dutifully attended by the 8 founding A holes of the organization.....

I'm a QB...have been for over 30 years. Initially in the DCA Hangar and currently in W66. Always good to hear from old-timers and other QBs

Known a few but never been invited to join. Guess they knew I don't like to share my strippers and liquor....

I have a very good friend (he is 74) that looks over my shoulder almost daily at the airport. He has been telling me to make certain i come see him at the air races this week at his buddies hanger on the field at Stead. Long story short, 260driver and I made our way over to the hanger and we ended leaving blown away.
We were greated by a manican with a g string filled with dollar bills and a hanger filled with old airplanes that looked like a museum. Long story short again, we left with QB pins, a hat and I was told that I better make the meeting next week. Very interested to learn about all the stories that filled the room.

Given the name the post seems interestingly ironic....

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
Sounds like a case study of the Reverse Streisand Effect. Or the Streisand Effect. Or...I'm just confused.
