Has any one been in to fish lake this year? I thought it might still be wet/soggy soft, usually we go in August.

Around 2 weeks ago. Upper and lower thirds were soggy, middle part was ok and reasonably smooth for my itty bitty 6x6's:maybe 850' useable. Should be better now, but don't know how dry it will get for another couple of weeks. It got too hot/high da for me to go visit lately until it dries out. I'll be back in September.

I was there for the BCP convention and I thought the runway was in good shape. The water was a little high around the lake making it difficult to walk or camp on the shoreline.

Generally the bugs are very bad this time of year. In about three weeks the morning frosts will start and reduce the bug population .

July 12, 2013, Fish Lake, ID (S92) Strip is in some of the best shape we have seen in years! Some of the shallow depressions have been filled in and are growing grass. Some of the areas were still sponging wet, but overall good shape. Would recommend 8.00 or larger tires. Did not see any wildlife, the moose are gone! We heard wolves in there 2 years ago. Nothing this year. Fish were small but plentiful. Lots of mosquitos and horse flies. Had the place to ourselves! Sure would be nice to have an outhouse at midfield, where most airplane campers camp.
