Anyone around Fort Worth/Graham/Olney?
A general forum for anything related to flying the backcountry. Please check first if your new topic fits better into a more specific forum before posting.
Flying down on Nov.7th into Ft Worth, and staying in Graham for a week. Doing a maintenance course at the Air Tractor factory in Olney. Anyone live around there? Be great to put some faces to names and have a coffee/beer/meal.

I used to. There is a whole lot of nothing around there. Graham used to be a dry county when I lived there. Yeah. They exist. I didn’t think so either. Liquor store was 13 miles in Any direction from town. Steve pierce rebuilds super cubs at the graham airport. He is big on supercub.org. Breckinridge has ezells, they rebuild warbirds.

David,
I flew the Texas Eastern Petroleum Products Company crude oil gathering system from Wichita Falls to Olney to Graham to Bowie in the 90s. I flew Leland Snow's son in law out toward some really large thunderstorms toward Dallas once in the pipeline 172 to show him there was no way to get through IFR in his Lance. We stayed low to see a continuous wall under a long line of thunderheads. He put me up that night. The Air Tractor people, run by Leland's daughter now I think, will take good care of you.

There's a group of big tire Maules in addition to Steve's crew. Also, Doug Jackson from TXStol isn't too far.
