Anyone know how to contact FS Phil Radcliff, near Ashland OR?

Newbie interviewing/looking for flight instructor.

Phil was recommended, but can't find a phone or address or email for him.
Flys a 150 Cessna out of a dirt strip somewhere near Medford OR, I hear.

If you want other names of good CFI's in the area, I'd recommend Tim Stewart at Skinner Aviation at Ashland.

Agreed. Tim's the man, fun guy to fly with.

I think I have Phil's phone number somewhere too. I'll PM you if I find it.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Other Ashland/Medford CFI recommendation also appreciated

Phil was/is high on the list or recommendation for several reasons including a teaching style that, per what was described, probably compatible with my goals and learning style, and that with his low overhead on his 150 and his dirt strip or whatever reasons the cost of going up with him was reported to be attractive compared to some others.

So I'd still love to be able to reach him.

If anyone posts recommendations for other CFIs a line or two about why you like/recommend him or her would be much appreciated... what you like about him/her that you might not find with some other instructor.

FYI; I have probably 10 hours, completely unlogged of course, at the controls of friends' single engine birds over the years, flew hang gliders (owned one) in the early 70s when it was completely unregulated, and have about two hours of formal hands-on-flight instruction in soarplanes.

Expect not much trouble learning the pedantic material (rules, proceedures, principles of areodynamics [reasonably up on that from years of building model planes, etc] and can surely learn the navigation, but want someone good at teaching the flying and judgement skills.

And of course we all have different personalities and some of us fit better with some CFIs than with others.

Phil Ratcliff - West Coast Flying Service. Not sure if the number is right, but the one I have is (541) 601-6063‎

He flys out of a Beagle airport. As mentioned before, both Tim and phil are good guys, have great personnalities, and above all are well seasoned flyers.

Table Rock?....lets go. I still have a lot of mud left over on my plane from last time and I think that was sometime last Spring. Can you tell I don't like to clean. Might have a little snow up there right now, but it would just make it that much more of an adventure.

Thanks Roger

Thanks for catching/correcting Radcliff to Ratcliff.
No wonder I couldn't track him down.

As in flying, sometimes little details do matter. ;-)

If anyone else need's Phil's number, PM Roger S or myself. I edited Roger's post to mask Phil's number. I know that I sure wouldn't want my full name and personal phone number posted in the open in an internet forum.

Zane, actually that number was listed for his business number under West Coast flying Service when I looked it up on the directory, not his home number, at least not the home number I have.

Whoops...I apologize then. I was always under the impression Phil was a lone ranger, and assumed that was his personal number. I'll re-add it.

Roger, why don't you PM your number and I'll try to give you a call when I'm in the Rogue Valley next.
