Atlanta to Oregon

Well I am proud owner of a new to me Piper Pacer. Thanks to M5Guy a few weeks back I got my TW endorsement and then flew to Atlanta to check out a 1952 PA-20/22.

After a few days of flying/inspections I took off and made my way back to Grants Pass, Oregon. 3S8

First stop Kennett, MS - $4.59 100LL!

Next was Emporia, KS

1000 miles later I dropped into Imperial, NE.

Hit low ceilings in Cheyenne, WY on the second day. Waited it out for 3hrs and then headed off to Rock Springs, WY.

Rock Springs to Caldwell, ID for fuel. Then to PDX for the night.

Gorgeous morning flight from PDX to Grants Pass.

Worked out a few sqwaks, but all in all a great trip!

Terrific flight and great pictures. Are you happy with the airplane? Is it an O-290D2 or the O-320?

So far I am very happy. The attitude gyro went Tango Uniform, but just ordered a new one today.

It is a Univair O-360 with a Hartzell CS prop conversion. It scoots pretty nicely.

Congratulations on the new bird. Was it based at Big T?

Re: Atlanta to Oregon

I'm also thinking of a Pacer/360 combo, how was the climb rate, cruise speed and fuel burn?

Nice Pacer! I remember seeing it for sale online and thought it looked like a pretty good deal.

Re: Atlanta to Oregon

Yes you do. I can't afford to land at your home base :-)

I am back next Friday. Me buying a new plane came with a condition of a Italian vacation with my lovely wife. Let's get together.

And so the ever increasing cost of airplane ownership goes on... :D ...Italy is a great vacation, just watch out for the gypsy pickpockets near the coliseum. The tend to use some sort of diversion tactic, usually pretty simple to pull off.
Nice looking airplane.
