Atlee Dodge rear seats...
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

...of the folding variety in a 170. Just how uncomfortable are they and what do you suppose it would cost to find and install something more comfy?

John,
Get some comfor foam cushions, and they're not that uncomfortable. The stock seat isn't THAT comfortable, and it's HEAVY. The Atlee seats are just fine in my opinion, and offer a lot of positive benefits.

The folks at fineline upholstery in Anchorage make some fine cushions for those seats. Mine aren't memory foam, maybe they can do that, I'm thrilled with mine and the price was right, they sent an instalation kit as well and they fit beautifully.

I use the middle seats from 206/210 on rails .STC from Kenmore Air Harbor . Found the seats on ebay for 300 bucks for the pair. Not too bad for comfort -certinly more comfortable than Atlee Dodge or BAS seats. Shipped by air was almost as expensive as seats.

That seems like a really cool mod. How heavy are those seats though?
