Avatar dimension limits

I'm so bored. I figure since there are only 200 or so of us, we can use larger avatars. Up to 120 pixels square! Just wanted to make sure you can all see my rudder pedals in high-def.

Are those "your" rudder pedals? And you're telling us that there is a 170 in your hangar? If so, WAY TO GO ZANE! If not, when is it coming?
If it's a larger avatar we are looking for, I want one kind of like Wup's except showing the bouncing figure, a film clip of me getting off the ground in 52'.
Do studio enhanced clips count? I'll tell everyone it's real![/i]

Kurt,

Those are almost my rudder pedals. 3 more days. Charley must pass pre-buy and make it home safe from Iowa. Then, beers will *sigh* in rejoice.

Go ahead, bust out your best avatar. Fake, real, whateva!

Question about avatars

Hey all,

Quick question on avatars. From the pics that you take while out flying, how do you "degrade" them enough to be small enough to be used as avatars? My camera makes two copies of the pic, one of which is of less quality (this is the only pic I can download into the photo gallery) and it is a jpeg pic, but when I try to use it as an avatar, I get the message that it has to be a jpeg, etc., type photo.

Any ideas for the semi-computer challenged?

Thanks.

GSP-

You must crop and then resize your photo using an image editing program. I recommend Adobe Photoshop if you have it, the free GIMP, but there are many others. The all use similar terminology along the lines of "image size" "resize image" etc.

Look in the How To's and Tutorials forum for image help.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Just as long as they don't get too damn big I hate to have to move the page to read the typeing!!

I kno I know.....

Thanks Zane. I'd thought about that but just didn't know. Hopefully I'll be sporting a new avatar, of an appropriate size :) , here shortly.
