Avatar question
Look in here for step-by-step procedures on how to upload photos to the gallery, embed images in posts, and use other fun features of this website.
My avatar is side ways for some reason. It wasn't when I up loaded it and the photo isn't. Any idea what caused it to rotate? Thanks for any help. Mark

It's that wheel pant on your front tire!! Causing too much drag and forcing the plane into a nose dive!! All in jest....as I am probably less computer savy than you! I have a hard time just trying to get a picture posted, so I am no help.
Just want to welcome you aboard to the greatest all around aviation site on the interweeb!

I've posted pics that do that.
I think they were all photos that got taken sideways, then I rotated on my phone.
For some reason, they revert back to original orientation when you post em here.

Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!
Photos that are posted using the provided BBcode link in the gallery, and not the original version image URL, will be oriented correctly. The gallery software corrects it to the orientation flag that was burned into the EXIF metadata by the camera.
It may not do the same with avatars. Judging from your pic that's the case.
A quick and dirty fix is to screenshot your own avatar in your local phone or computer viewer, then reupload.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
This is a backcountry site. I recall seeing something about membership being limited to high-wing planes. No side-wing planes allowed.

Thanks for all the helpful ideas. I tried rotating it on my pc before up loading and I still comes out side ways. Guess I will leave it for now. I bet I get it figured out some day.
